It is amazing how widespread the “Red Plague” we face is.

Professionally, I advise a dental implant company. Much of their implants are for cosmetic purposes, in addition to improving dental health. They have seen a significant slowdown in the elective use of their products over the past four months.

Another client invested in a $25,000 smile last November, using a “zero interest” loan, similar to those offered by the cosmetic surgeons. She called me to figure out a way to may down the loan. Had she not done the procedure last year, she certainly would not have done it this year!

You’re right. For some reason it is not easy to close the loop on goal setting.

Isn’t it odd how so many things that should really be obvious and “simple” are so difficult to do?

75% of our economic prosperity comes from consumption, not what goes on at Wall Street. No one lost a dime on Wall Street, unless they sold their stock. If they freaked out and sold, then they lost. Most people understand that the stock market will bounce back, and will wait it out.

The media is hell-bent on talking us out of consuming, and right into their hands of waiting at the tv and radio for the next bit of news…which will always be bad.

check out my blog. I find positive stories almost every day that you will not find in mainstream media, why? Good news doesn’t sell ad space.

There were 7 midwestern states that added over a half million jobs in 08….did you hear anything of it? Nope…

Anyway…we will bounce back. Work hard, work smart, rethink your priorities, but don’t shove your money under the mattress. Our economy again…counts on us, our expenditures, to keep it humming.

For reals? That hurts, and yet in my gut I think that is probably a realistic number. The “underemployed” number is probably on the mark as well, in the same manner that accumulated wealth took a beating through market and housing drops, earning potential is at risk. Nice perfect storm we are having.

This type of labor market lends itself to draconian management. All across North America I am sure that people are being abused by managers who are quick to remind them “they are lucky to have a job” and “they could be replaced in a heartbeat”. Lucky for me I’m unemployed and don’t have to put up with this. Suckers!
